My husband has often wondered also if one is disfellowshipped is it not only fair and just that all their contributions are returned to them? If this were the case disfellowshipping would surely cease?

teel's thread re his jc and his lawyer's advice has made me think....why dont all of us disfellowshipped ones sue the org for defamation of character????.
imagine if we could find a lawyer who'd be prepared to start a suit against them on behalf of us all?.
any thoughts?.

just thought i would post something on a lighter note.. it was our group's turn to clean the kh following the sunday meeting.
an elder asked my husband to "look at the toilets", hubby went into the toilets came straight back out, said to the elder "they're still there, bye".
he then grabbed my hand and rushed me out the kh.. i think the elder was too gobsmacked to speak.. hubby said that they want obedience and to follow instructions accurately and he maintains that is exactly what he did!!.

recently, i've been seeing this argument displayed here more frequently by those still believing jw's.. usually in reply to arguments they can not answer well, like 1914, generation(s), etc.... its almost like, they are are having serious doubts as well, but their fall back is, "but its god organization....where else would you go......don't leave, we are so close to the end".
as one recently shared their experience with a jc.
the elders, when feeling trapped on explanations, fell back to this defense.
Well, the point is I am sure many JWs have doubts but are not strong enough to do anything about it and when they hear something like "Don't leave, it's God's Organisation" is perhaps enough just to keep them attending. It somehow strikes a cord UNLESS..... you think more deeply about it. How can a group of self-appointed men possibly be God's Organisation? On this basis any group of people can band together and say they are God's Organisation - there is nothing more to it than that.
I think this allied to the fact that many have lots of family members and friends within the Organisation which keeps them in and we were constantly told to beware of others trying to stumble us, even within the KH. This has served to keep people separate and apart from discussing anything - this is what keeps the numbers up.
When one looks at the numbers again they are frightened to leave believing that so many people cannot be wrong.
However, we all know from this site that many may be attending the KH for their own personal reasons but that they no longer believe the lies.

recently a circuit overseer said in one of his talks that the new light.
on the generation teaching shows how very close the end is because.
there will be a time when the over lap will end.
What I could never understand was why they were always concerned about Armageddon "just being round the corner".
The way I see it is that the bible is very clear on the fact that no-one knows when it will happen and it will come when no-one is expecting it. Surely, if the JWs are always expecting it - it won't happen.
Furthermore, if one lives a good Christian life, i.e. treat others how you would wish to be treated etc. etc. what does it matter when it happens, you are in good standing in any event.
Surely, the whole purpose of no-one knowing is so that people always live a good a caring life and not just turn it on to get through Armageddon.
These are just some thoughts I had on Armageddon.

questions to ask yourself about jehovahs witnesses.
why are the watchtower society leaders kept behind a curtain?
why cant the average witness name their leaders?
Cantleave was for MadJW, sorry for not making it clear.
MadJW - I have to say that most of what you say certainly didn't relate to any of the churches I have attended. That said, naturally I have not attended them all so cannot speak for those.
I did notice that at the meetings in the talks when slandering other religions the speaker used to say such things as though they related to all religions so I merely mention this so that you know that it is just not true. Like me, I am sure you wish to be accurate in your knowledge of other faiths. Therefore, those listening may well believe that it is true of all religions when factually it is not.
Blessings.

I am not saying that churches get it right all the time - no-one does. It is just that sometimes JWs seem to make statements about churches that are factually incorrect. My point is that if one lives a good, honourable life, treating and speaking to others how they themself would like to be treated none of us would be far off the mark. Sometimes one can become involved in nit picking over every little word and forgetting to behave to others how a good Christian should behave. Varying translations and how language has evolved over the years makes interesting theological debate but it should not take over one's life so that the core of Christianity is forgotten. After it is impossible for anyone to get it right. I didn't say God makes mistakes I said that he DIDN'T make mistakes. For example, IF the GB is inspired by God as his direct channel then they wouldn't make mistakes as God doesn't. My apologies for not being clear.

Why are the Clergy leaders kept behind a curtain? They weren't when I went to church Why is Matthew 24:34 largely ignored by CHURCHianity? It is not necessary to keep repeating this Now, the only GOOD and no-spin question listed here was: Why does the Watchtower refer to new teachings as “New Light” when some of this “New Light” reverts to an old teaching? Answer: Because they are always changing their OPINION as to what the prophecies mean! God doesn't make mistakes At the end of the day it is how you live your life, treating others as you would wish to be treated and not picking over every little word. God can read hearts and minds. | |

1. get a copy of crisis of conscience, bring it to the meetings and read it while others are reading the wt.
if you work with other jw's leave a copy on your desk at work or in school.
they may become interested.. 2. witness to everyone who is a jw as to the horrors associated with the wtbs, and the joys of leaving.. 3. if they listen, you have gained your brother.
This thread has made me laugh so much, keep them coming in!!!
